A nuke usually takes under a minute: channels deleted, roles wiped, a stack of bans. Anti-nuke stops the account doing it. Rebuild puts back what it broke first. It's free on every plan.
1. Stop it first
If anti-nuke caught it, the account has already lost its dangerous permissions. If not, remove their roles or kick them before you rebuild, or they'll just delete everything again.
2. Preview
Press Preview rebuild on the anti-nuke alert, or run /rebuild restore. Pick how far back to look, from 15 minutes to 7 days, and optionally one person so you only undo what they did. Sift lists every channel, category, role, ban and permission change it can undo.
3. Rebuild
Nothing changes until you press Rebuild. Roles come back first, so channels can point their permissions at them. Then categories, then channels in their old spots with their topics, slowmode and permissions. Bans made by that account get lifted, and role permission changes are put back.
Who gets their roles back
Staff roles (anything with admin, manage, ban, kick or timeout permissions) go back to everyone who had them. For other roles, like Verified or Member, pick up to 10 with /rebuild roles ahead of time. Sift only writes those member lists down when a role is deleted, and keeps them for 45 days.
What can't come back
- Messages in a deleted channel. Discord doesn't keep them, for any bot.
- Anything deleted before Sift was in your server.
- Permissions Sift doesn't have itself, like Administrator. The result card tells you which roles need a manual fix.
Rebuilt channels get new IDs, so links to the old ones stop working. Sift updates its own settings for you if its log channel was one of them.
Get ready before it happens
- Keep Sift's role near the top, so it can recreate roles below it.
- Run /rebuild roles and add the roles your members would miss.
- Turn on anti-nuke in /settings, so the next one stops after a few deletes instead of all of them.
